I might have a dress like this one shortened after the wedding so I could go out and dance in it, but it looks non-breathable and non-washable. I think other gals might wear a long or knee-length version of this dress beyond the wedding, though. Would I wear this dress as a bridesmaid? Yes. Would I ever wear it again? I picked out the fabric (they send swatches if you ask!) and had my bridesmaids choose their own design and send in their measurements.

I have a piece of advice for all who would go this route: encourage your bridesmaids to have someone who knows how to take measurements take them. The temptation to have a clueless friend do it is too high, and then you get some weird looking dresses. My other piece of advice: force your bridesmaids to order the dresses far in advance, to leave time for alterations. That said, the Chinese online tailor is a smashing bargain. I also had my reception gown made by the same tailor.
