Another year, another ugly dress!
By Never teh Bride
Happy new year to all who choose to celebrate the new year at this time! Here’s hoping that everyone has a wonderful 2006 - and can avoid seeing…or being near dresses like this one. The lovely Madelene brought this mermaid style dress to my attention. This satin gown features an extra, extra wide portrait neckline and a fluffy ruffled organza mermaid skirt. Good for the bride who wants to have the very authentic ocean wedding, perhaps?
Now, did I have a happy New Year’s Eve? Twenty hours in various airports, five flights, and a near death experience due to weather…and no proposal…says no. I’m almost glad to be back to work!

Question: would a mermaid wedding dress be appropriate if your fiance is a dolphin? Or does it HAVE to be a merman?

“Glamour’s 50 Biggest Fashion Dos and Don’ts” was on TV last week, and one of the Don’ts was too much lace–it makes you look like a tablecloth. But this dress looks more like someone went overboard wrapping a gift–shiny damask paper, way too much ribbon, and finally, a big ol’ butt-bow.

GK, I think any wedding involving the sea…perhaps even one between sailors…could accommodate this dress.
Personally, I think the bottom part looks edible!

The meringue has a certain frothy appeal … even if the rest of the dress doesn’t.
Dear NtB, may 2006 bring you a proposal from the man you love - even if it isn’t from The Beard.
As I wait, like Penelope, for The Last Boyscout to return home, I assure you, I understand the pain.
Here’s hoping 2006 is better all around.
*Glad you made it back safe!

Thanks, La BellaDonna! And I guess one does never know!
