You’ve got to give him credit, he has some brass ones for attempting to pull it off. I certainly wouldn’t have the guts.

I did a search just to see if the value would move, which it eventually did, but not by much. This whole things tends to look more like a joke then something serious, but if you look in his software area he does give some good suggestions to free stuff, I must say. Which I fear to say I did take his advice on:-)

You’d be surprised how many people do that, Bacon’s Mom. There are folks who want help paying their credit card bills and folks who make sites that are nothing but ads, like the Million Dollar Homepage, and everyone has a ‘donate to me for no good reason’ button on their personal pages these days. But, yeah, it is super rude!

Ditto, Bacon’s Mom. Have you read the FAQ? The part about how he/they intend to use the money made me cringe…because he’s not just begging, he’s begging so other people can pay off their wedding and student loan debt. Nothing says ‘responsible’ and ‘mature enough for marriage’ like inviting strangers to relieve you of the obligation to repay your debts.

This reminds me of savekaryn.com from a few years back. Equally gross.

I can also see being presented with a million bucks on the morning of your wedding being kind of stressful. Now, instead of just hoping everything goes well, you’re suddenly wondering how you’ll handle the tax and what you should do with it and whether your family’s gonna want a piece of it.

No, a million dollars would definitely make a better birthday gift. Or perhaps the first anniversary gift. After all, it is the paper year.

Still, at the moment, he’s only got $42 and change.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d really rather have something simple from the heart than a cool million weasled out of corporations.

Of course, this may explain why I married a starving musician and why we’re still starving. ; )

Plus, even if Google laughs him off, everything he makes through this plan is taxable as ordinary income. If he comes up with $1M from the ads and links, he’ll be way (WAY) in the top tax bracket, which leaves him with $650K, give or take (not that it would be anything to sneeze at).

Looks like copyright infringement to me; I wonder if his revenues will cover his legal expenses when Google clamps down on him.
