A real knock-em-dead dress

By Never teh Bride

Holy hot, Batman!

This is the kind of dress I desperately wish I could wear well. I’m fairly certain that only five percent of women throughout the world would look good in it. It’s the kind of wedding dress that can stop traffic. The kind of dress that would make any ex-boyfriends attending the wedding want to drink poison.

Oh, you want details? Sorry, I was too busy slobbering and imagining myself walking down the aisle in that dress to the tune of David Rose’s ‘The Stripper.’ The dress is part of Paula Varsalona’s fall V Collection for 2006. Judging by the price tags on the other Varsalona dresses I’ve seen, it’s probably pretty pricey.

But who cares! I love it! Check out the back:

Bum-bump-pah-bum Bump-pah-bum!

Can you say, “Rawr”? I know you can!

my sister in law wore a dress just like that for her wedding, she is very tall (over 6′ ft) and very bony, so it suited her wonderfully. She wasn’t quite as curvaceous as this model, but lovely just the same.

you do have a thing for these gowns though don’t you NtB? I remember the post about the gown with the ivory and gold lace-where she looked like she was sniffing her pits?

  2. Dataceptionist Says:

hahaha, And “Bony” wasn’t meant to sound so unattractive there either! I meant quite slim, as opposed to skeletal.

Oh, pretty! I have a dress w/ a similar cut but very simple and in pink. I love the way it hugs my curves too.

Something about the mermaid tail in the first picture bothers me. Was it hemmed a little weird?

Yow. Reminds me of Rita Hayworth.

If only I reminded myself of Rita Hayworth…

One would probably need a girdle or super-Spanx or some such body rearranger to wear such a dress.

When I first started shopping for dresses, I really, really wanted a Sue Wong sheath. I’m fairly normally sized, which meant that a Sue Wong sheath made me look positively poochy. This dress may not be quite so unforgiving; it looks like it’s got more structure. But still.

(My dress should come in this month . . . whee!)

I think it’s the lighting and the angle, Ninjarina. There appears to be one fold that’s not well defined, making that area look flat.

Ooh la love. Being a bride never appealing until now. I mean never looked so appealing.
