By Never teh BrideThink all the old duffers who chase 21-year-old skirts are bad? Well, a 70-year old Bangladeshi widow recently bought herself a 22-year-old husband. Sundari Begum gave the family of Bakkar Fakir cash and gifts in return for his hand in marriage.
The groom’s family accepted Begum as the bride after she had given them 30,000 Bangladeshi taka (about 16,300 baht or US$430) and some other valuable gifts, the newspaper said.
Begum, the mother of seven adult children, told reporters that she fell in love with Fakir four years ago and was prepared to pay any price to win his hand.
Maybe I’ve been pursuing this whole marriage thing all wrong. Think The Beard’s mom would prefer cash or a check?

My husband claims he paid my father an undisclosed sum for me. My father, for once in his life picking up on a joke, agreed sincerely that he couldn’t tell me what he was paid.
I just say I best not’ve been sold off at a bargain-basement price.
