I have a ring like your dream ring. Was a gift, so I don't know where it came from and I've had it about 5 years. Mine has a paraiba tourmaline and is gorgeous.

Okay, here's a dress question. A couple of years ago I was invited to a wedding in mid-July, in a small town in Pennsylvania. It started at 4:00 followed by a reception. The wedding was outdoors (frankly, it was on a part of the parking lot surrounded by white-painted garden lattice "walls") and the reception indoors.

I wasn't sure what to wear; at home in Portland, OR a pretty day dress with great accessories would be right, and one never wears black to an afternoon wedding--or so I was taught. I was taught wrong, though, as other than the bride I was the only woman there not wearing a black cocktail dress suitable for Manhattan. At 4 in the afternoon on a hot, humid day in a small town!

I felt very underdressed in my pretty, strapless, floral print dress with a shawl around my shoulders for the wedding.
