Re: private time – it’s programmed into a Jewish wedding! After the ceremony, the bride and groom retire to someplace private nearby for a little time together in the first few moments of being married. It’s called the yichud, and I’m very excited for ours (our room will have our favorite snacks!).

I think it was in an older episode of the Simpsons when Marge mentions that she’s in a secret club – there are only two members and they have rings! I think you just made your own secret club =)

And NtB is so right about scheduling “private time.” My siblings, whom I love with all my heart, stayed to chat with my husband at our place after the wedding. I went to bed about 3:00 AM; I don’t know when my husband got to bed. And the next day, I made breakfast (French toast and hash browns) for twenty-six people. I wouldn’t do either of those things if I were getting married now.
