In real life, when you don’t know what to give someone, you give them a scented candle or a gift basket. Problem solved. When it comes to your bridal party, you may find yourself similarly stymied — especially when each of your ladies has vastly different tastes. Very cool – I love these purses. I think most bridesmaids would have fun with one of these, regardless of their age.
I actually made bags for my bridesmaids, lo these many years gone by. Each bridesmaid was wearing some shade of blue, trimmed with gold; the bags were sapphire velvet, with gold drawstrings – dainty enough to carry with their dresses, big enough to be useful – and to hold the period eating utensils that were also part of their bridesmaids’ gifts, since it was a wedding with a period theme.
I also work for a company that does design-your-own-handbags and is creating a special line for brides and their bridal parties. We typically hold a design-your-own-bag consultation at the bridal shower and the bride can decide if her party (and mothers) should use a certain fabric/design/etc. or if they can choose their own in order to use as gifts for the wedding at at the wedding. The bride recieves her bag free-of-charge if a certain amount of sales are reached and this can be custom designed from her dress, if desired.
