I’m fortunate to have a mother who is amazing at decorating cakes, and lives next door to a professional baker. So I get a made to order cake that’s gorgeous and delicious! Six days to go!

I’m with you there, JS! My cake rocked…it wasn’t ALL THAT. We were going to go with a ‘book’ design kind of like the cake above, but then went for something simpler. I was more interested in the flavors than anything else!

Eh–I live near Cakes by Leslie, and went by to see if I wanted to order one of her cakes for my wedding this fall. Her cakes are, no contest, the most beautiful and intricate ones I’ve seen, but….they didn’t taste great. For me, it’s more important to have a pretty and delicious cake than to have a gorgeous but blah-tasting cake.
