I’m not certain which is the one you love; I know you are often partial to strapless gowns, but the one on the left just looks so depressed – and as if she’s about to slither out of her lacy skin. I know that I love the one on the right, and not just because it would allow me to wear an actual bra with the dress, either. I went to her website, and she has a LOT of really pretty, really wearable dresses.
the strapless one on the left looks droopy and unflattering…even the “sleeves” look bunched up, and the whole dress looks like gravity is getting the better of it. definitely a thumbs up for the one on the right, though!
The one on the right is very pretty, but I have to say that something about the lace straps and neckline is reminiscent of a negligee.
it’s gotta be the one on the right – the same model looks five months pregnant in the picture on the right- not to mention how depressed/boobs droopy/sallow/etc. Well, not sallow, but it’s managed to bisect her chest !!! sad.
Gotta go with the concensus here. Even though I think the gown on the left wouldn’t be too bad if the model was standing up straight and not giving the impression that she ran out of anti-depressants last week and has lost the will to live, I still think the one on the right is much prettier.
i love both. but if i HAD to, i’d guess you don’t like the racer sleeves on the strapless dress…!
i hope by the time i get married, there will be used claire pettibone dresses on the market. her dresses remind me of fairy tales…
I agree with Twistie and tto – it’s poor posture ruining an otherwise lovely dress – although I can’t say I’m a fan of “racer sleeves” as tto called them. I feel like they would make anyone’s arms look chunky – no matter how devoutly one worships at the church of fitness.
Somehow the eyebrows on this model convince me she wants to stab me with a hatpin.
I love both the dresses, but the girl in the strapless gown needs to stand up straight, and yank the gown up a bunch of inches. Maybe it’s too tight and is sliding down like bad pantyhose? Because if you look at it–the skirt, not the sleeves–the embroidered tulle overskirt is gorgeous.
Love, love, LOVE Claire Pettibone’s dresses. Unfortunately, waaay out of my price range. However, I did buy a very cute, rather racy Claire Pettibone babydoll for the honeymoon, in “honey” colored lace. It’s called the “Cicely.” If you like her wedding gowns but can’t afford one (or don’t need one), try out the lingerie.
Lordy. the partial sleeves are almost NEVER a good idea. And here- they kind resemble fingerless gloves. As if she’s a huge fan of Madonna-circa 1984.
I don’t know about you but judging from the model’s facial expression, she either hates both of them or is about to be hit by a semi.
Le sigh. . . that one on the right has been my Holy Grail dress for about six months now. Alas, like Pencils above, it is way out of my price range.
