Dang, that Traveler girl and Lauren are as tacky as hell.
Okay, two thoughts:
1.) From what these girls said, it seems as if they were in love with the idea of marriage itself without really understanding the responbilities that it entails.
2.) In the U.S., these girls would be considered white trash. I'm sorry, I know it's very crass and rude of me to say that, but there it is.

From the sound of the first girl's description of her life after marriage, this was the last interesting thing she was ever going to do, so its not that much of a surprise that she went over the top.

However, I had a hard time reconciling the family's tradition views and the guest's skanky apparel!

The couple with the huge age difference actually seemed happy and relatively normal to me.

The traveler girl said she was Roman Catholic? I'm absolutely shocked that a Roman Catholic priest would allow people dressed so inappropriately into a church. I know more than one priest who would refuse to proceed with the wedding if the bride arrived dressed like that. Good golly, that was awful.

The pregnant bride had a pretty tasteful get-up, though, and the Pakistani girl's dress was, of course, gorgeous.

The older man is creepy. I had crushes on older men when I was a teenager, but they were all wise enough not to go after a kid. I don't mind age differences up to a point--my parents are 11 years apart, and I know a very happy couple who are 15 years apart, but more than 20 years is pushing it, especially if the younger partner is only 18.

That was AWESOME! An assault on the senses. She actually waddled down the aisle...so graceful. Are Traveler and her groom going to live in her dress? Is that why it is so big? Why are there little girls dressed like bad Vegas showgirls? Seriously why did those two girls have on neon lycra tube tops and leggings?

LOVED this! I thought it was hilarious but also very poignant. That clueless 18yo married to the crypt-keeper -- it would be interesting to have a five-year follow-up to this show to see who's still married, if there are any kids, etc. That Pakistani girl is going to go places!

I know the Traveler's dress is hideous, but good golly! Look at the other wedding guests! No wonder!

I believe the term for this is "chav." I know some people say it's a classist term but it's roughly the equivalent of ghetto/redneck in the US, which IMO is less about class and more a damning judgment of such ostentatious displays of materialism among the poor.

Fake tan, tasteless jewelry, frosty eyeshadow, and children of underaged mums running around - check!

MTV has a show just like it called "Engaged and Underage." It's not as tacky and sinfully fun (I think I'm becoming an Anglophile) as the British version but still worth a good look. By the way, on E&U there's alot of cupcake dresses.
