It was the perfect day - and there wasn't anything that felt "cheap". Admittedly, we have friends who are professional sound/staging technicians, photographers & videographers who helped us out instead of giving us gifts :-) I think being creative and learning to do things yourself is the way to go! My hubby & I tied the knot last Saturday and we managed to spend less than a quarter of the average wedding - and you know what? It was the perfect day - and there wasn’t anything that felt “cheap”.

Admittedly, we have friends who are professional sound/staging technicians, photographers & videographers who helped us out instead of giving us gifts :-)

I think being creative and learning to do things yourself is the way to go!

No wedding debt, no regrets, no heartburn on bill day. (pats self on head) But I am so taking up Blake's banner on rewearing the gown. There's even good historical precedent. As recently as the 1920's a lot of high society British brides wore their wedding gowns when being presented at Court. And of course once upon a time, a wedding gown was worn as a woman's best dress until it got so worn that she cut it up for children's clothes or quilt blocks. Blake, I think I love you.
