I just bought these: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7380453.html because I found them somewhere else on sale for $128. I adore Kate Spade shoes, and loved the puzzle motif on the vamp for a wedding.

Plus, my fiance is only two inches taller than me and rarely stands up perfectly straight, so I'd look a little silly in four-inch heels next to him. And the best part is that I can potentially wear these all night, but I am buying a pair of white Reef flip-flops to wear to the reception (and on the honeymoon!) just in case.

I wore these peep-toe pumps:
http://www.amazon.com/Steve-Madden-Womens-Rental-Peep-Toe/dp/B000IGXLRK

but mine were red leather. Not super-bright red, but the color of the covers of some of the books on my shelves. I really wanted to wear red shoes, and I had a heck of a time finding red high heels that weren't cherry-colored patent leather (not really the look I was going for). I thought about Scottish dancing ghillies, or getting white Irish ghillies and dyeing them red--especially after seeing Twistie mention hers on this blog--but I decided that heels would be better than totally flat shoes for me. I tend to walk funny when I wear flats, and have better posture in heels.
The heels didn't at all prevent me from dancing an Irish reel or teaching a Scottish country dance to my guests.

I do love the Fluevog wedding line, E. That's likely what I would have chosen if I'd been marrying somewhere chillier!

I've bought shoes from the John Fluevog "Wedding Programme" line just for everyday wear and would definitely be rocking a pair from there if I were getting married. Gorgeous and edgy boots, shoes and sandals from a wonderful company.

I'm considering a pair of the flats. They're adorable.

I wore these with black fishnets underneath my very classic giant white wedding dress. I had to throw my own personality in somewhere... and the purple perfectly matched the capelet I was wearing.

I had gorgeous shoes - but they were white. I have very narrow feet, so I'm hard to fit. My dress wasn't quite floor length, so my shoes would show. I needed a miracle. I went to the local pageant/ ballroom dance shoe store. I ended up with ballroom shoes in peau de soie with a sculpted heel, ankle strap, cutouts, and crystals. They were hot. Flats for the reception were not an option - my husband is a full foot taller than I. We would not have made it into the same frame in the photos and the requisite cake and champagne feeding would have been more awkward than usual.

I had a great pair of yellow low-topped Chuck Taylors with daisies printed on them to dance in if my beautiful Benjamin Adams wedding shoes hurt. I expected to wear them, I was looking forward to the photos of me in my wedding gown, dancing in the Chucks I wear most days. But my wedding shoes were so beautiful, and so comfortable, I couldn't bear to take them off! I ordered them, fully expecting to dye them blue, but they were so beautiful when I took them out of the box I couldn't risk dyeing them. And the ivory matched my dress. So I wore them as is. I still haven't gotten them redyed--I should, though, I'd love to wear them again. These are the shoes: http://www.theaccessoryboutique.com/product/product_list.php

I do wish I had a picture of me in my wedding dress and Chucks, though!
