Another day, another something to covet

By Never teh Bride

It’s a good thing I’m not in Sydney, Australia right now. I mean, seriously, what is it with the absolutely fantastic dresses that come out of that country? First there was Culture Shock, and now I find Gallery Serpentine via my fabulous friend Kristina.

WANT WANT WANT WANT

Most brides don’t dream of walking down the aisle in jeweled green…what is that, PVC?…but I know there are at least a few of you out there.

And red, too!

I still cry a little inside when I think about all the amazing colored gowns I found AFTER I tied the knot. Oh, I looked at dresses in reds and greens and blues, but all of the ones I found looked chinzy or promish or too solidly 80s to be retro cool.

That said, aren’t these gowns GORGEOUS? My want-O-meter is in the red zone!

I adore the red and gold dress. *sigh*

  2. Glinda Says:

The last red one is gorgeous. It’s a bit bordello-y, but why can’t a wedding have a bit of bordello?

  3. Dianasaur Says:

ooh la la! I drooled so much when looking for ideas for my medieval dress. Although I wanted a white dress, I saw plenty of colored ones I desperately wanted to own.

  4. Nariya Says:

I don’t know, the separate corset thing looks a bit too much like underclothes–albeit old-fashioned ones–to me! The colors are beautiful, but I’d wear those cuts to a masquerade or costume ball. Probably not my wedding.

That green dress is bad-ass. Plasticky, but bad-ass.

  5. Never teh Bride Says:

Funny thing, Nariya…I used to feel the same way about separate corsets. Then one day it stopped hitting my eye like that. I guess I got used to it or my tastes changed or perhaps I just stopped caring. Who knows!

  6. Anusha Says:

It’s been my dream to one day own a gorgeous bespoke corset like the ones pictured. The closest I came was the whale-boning on my wedding sari blouse, but one day I’m determined to get a corset (esp. from Dark Garden!).

  7. Wench Says:

Those gowns are superfantastic, and I think it is safe to say that I am totally in lust with them.
