LOVE/HATE: the girly-girl edition

I am in total lust with this vintage frock I found at Violetville Vintage. White lace and pink taffeta come together in a fitted bodice and a super full skirt that gets its volume from built-in crinoline. A lace-trimmed band in the middle defines a gal’s waist without emphasizing anything you don’t want emphasized. Naturally, it’s totally tiny, as many vintage dresses are.
When I laid eyes upon it, my first thought was that it could make an adorable wedding dress for a fun, flirty, girly bride who wasn’t looking for anything too formal.
What say you?

Total love! Great for an outdoor garden wedding! But this obviously wouldn’t work for everyone. I, at a petite 4’10″ would likely be mistaken for the flower girl, rather than the bride.
Just a touch longer (knee length) and I’d be all over that dress!
it’s beautiful, though it’s not my style. it makes such a difference when the model looks happy to be in the dress. so many of the traditional dresses are worn by such miserable looking models!
They had another white 50′s dress that would work as a wedding dress. It was also tiny, of course!

I, too, think if it were knee-length, it could make a lovely wedding dress for the right wearer. At its current length? I think it would make a dandy First Communion dress!
I have to admit that I never think skirts that puffy look good that short…but as a couple others have said, it could really work for me if the skirt were just a couple inches longer.
That said, if one finds such short puffy skirts fun and attractive and one is having a very informal wedding, it would be absolutely perfect for the purpose. And kudos on those in charge of the photo shoot for having the model look happy. That goes a long way to selling a dress, so far as I’m concerned.
LOOOVEEE IT !!!! and as for it being longer… I’m only 5’1 , so on me it wouldn’t be as short anyway LOL, but I can see how others would say that… but it is an AWESOME dress !
It would be FABULOUS if the hem was just a little longer, as it is it looks like Miss Muffett about to sit on a tuffet
LOVE all the way. I even went to eBay to see if it was still available (I’m petite and usually have good luck with vintage clothing) but alas, I think it’s been sold!
Hate it for a grown woman. Love it for a little girl.
Nothing but love for this dress. The shoes, however…
They really take away from the flirty female feel of the dress.
Love it, though perhaps biased by recollection of my boyfriend’s sister getting married in something of a similar shape. It was chilly (April in Chicago), and she also wore a white cardigan she’d embroidered with some classic tattoo imagery (including her now-husband’s name in a bleeding heart). Too cute!
