I bought yellow lowtopped Chucks with daisies and little ladybugs for my wedding, in case my wedding shoes hurt my feet. (Yellow was one of my wedding colors.) I’ve worn Chucks since the 80s so it seemed appropriate to wear them. I’m wearing a pair of pink floral ones right now. However, I never did put them on! My gorgeous “real” wedding shoes turned out to be so comfortable I never felt the need to change out of them, and they were so beautiful I didn’t want to take them off. I am sorry I didn’t get any pictures of me in my wedding gown with Chucks though. I still wear the yellow Chucks all the time but I’m thinking I should put them away–packed away with the bubble gum pink hightops that I wore in high school.

I had friends who got married last year who wore custom made orange (for him) and pink (for her) chuck taylors. They are the coolest people I personally know and it was absolutely perfect for them.

De: It sounds like your feet are direct clones of my feet. I shudder to think of what shoes made specifically for our sort of feet would look like…those horrible shoes with toes? I can’t even begin to imagine.

That’s a gorgeous photo! My groom, all of our groomsmen and even our dads are wearing green high top chucks for the wedding. We got the date of the wedding embroidered on the back of his (I guess there’s no new ideas!) and I got a pair for myself that say “mrs. hislastname” because I liked the color so much. I’m wearing heels for the wedding, but I’ll like having the chucks afterward.

Great idea La BellaDonna! There’s also a shop called the sock man or the sock guy here in NYC that sells lace trimmed anklets but I don’t know if he ships. And your’s is customized!

NtB, I too have wide feet! Well, its more that they are ‘duck feet’…they get wider as they go (my toes are often cramped in shoes that fit nicely on my heel).

However, my heels are fairly straight down, meaning I don’t have much ‘curve in’ at the top of my heel – so some shoes that are made to cup the back of your foot actually rub against my flat little feet-backs and end up giving me blisters. LAME.
