A Bit of Animalistic Wedding Humor

I’m a big fan of the comic strip Sylvia. Have been for yonks. In the interest of blowing off steam for our soon-to-be brides, I thought I’d share a couple that have amused me in the past week having to do with weddings:

Of course, not all of us are dog people…that would include me. I’m more of a cat person. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that I’d been a cat in a previous life. So for those of us of a more feline persuasion, and for all of us with a sense of humor, I give you this:

And last but not least, this wedding-themed lolcat:

Whatever animal you love, whatever your scary dream or dream greeting card, here’s hoping you find a lot to laugh at as you plan your wedding.

After all, nothing keeps nerves at bay like a bit of humor.

Once again, Twistie, we’re brain twins. Animal humor kills me. I still remember a hilarious greeting card my mom gave me several years ago for some random occasion — it was titled “Coming home to a dog vs. Coming home to a cat.”

Dog: “You’re home! I’m so excited! I missed you so much! You’re the best person ever! You’re home! Can we play ball? Hooray!!”

Cat: “Oh. It’s you. What did you bring me?”

Not wedding related, and better with the pictures, but I still think it’s funny 🙂

  2. EEK! I loooooove Sylvia! I first read The Whole Enchilada collection when I was about six years old. When I grew up, I wanted to sit around drinking beers, writing things, and wearing my hair like that.

Melissa B, I know that cartoon and love it dearly!

NtB, except for the beer part, okay, and the smoking part, and having a Rita around to command imperiously…yeah, I did sort of grow up to be Sylvia. At least I sit around writing things and wear my hair in crazy ways. And when Mr. Twistie gets home, he never knows what strange idea/suggestion/bomb I’m going to drop on him.

Hehe, that last picture is classic.

I’ve gone a little down the animal & wedding (attempted :-S) humour route on my blog – see The Wedding Singer.

Lip-syncing a frog to music in Flash is a nightmare…!

  5. Oh man. Planning my own very small, simple wedding was enough stress. (Not the least because two weeks before the wedding, my husband’s parents called to tell him they were ticked about something I wrote in my blog — so what else is new? — and they weren’t coming to the wedding and he shouldn’t marry me anyhow.) Why would someone go through all that for a dog? I didn’t even want to do it for myself!

I think that those cats behave a lot better than some of the bridezillas you see today.
