Ugh, what a horrible story about that poor bridesmaid! I'm not sure I buy the explanation that her original Bill Levkoff didn't come in her size. I Googled the size charts and both Eden Bridals and Bill Levkoff make gowns up to size 28. But even if that was true they should have checked with her before changing her order. Deliberately ordering the wrong product and expecting the customer to pay for it is completely unethical.

I think it's pretty rare to find a wedding where an ice cream cake would be just the right thing...but someone out there is bound to be having just the right wedding for that cake and I hope they see it.

Dianasaur: Like Twistie said, it was apparently a size issue. But I know that when I order something that a store doesn't stock, I don't want them choosing an alternative without asking me first whether I'd prefer a full refund! The store is at fault, and if I were the victim, I'd ask for a full refund, alterations or no.

Twistie: I would have loved to have had an ice cream wedding cake, but the May weather in Florida nixed that idea. I suppose I could have gotten a lot of little cakes and demanded that my gram empty her freezer, but I think it wouldn't have been in keeping with the whole not-bridezilla vibe I had going on.

I've been frothing at the mouth over that story since yesterday, Dianasaur. Apparently the dress she ordered didn't come in her size, and the store hadn't checked what sizes it's manufactured in before they took the girl's money. Then rather than contacting the customer with their goof, they ordered a different dress and then treated her horribly when she discovered the difference. There's no excuse.

NtB, these pictures are making me want to do something fun with polka dots, and I have to say I'm kind of loving the thought of an ice cream wedding cake. That's such a fun idea!

Mmmm...ice cream cake.

I read about that poor girl in the news. It made me so angry for her, how dare they decide for her what dress would be more or less flattering, without even saying something. I was shocked.
