If nothing else, you absolutely have to admire the artistry and the skill required to make these. The one that looks like cushions is rather nifty, IMHO.

blablover5: Some of them do indeed look…unstable, but I have to imagine that they are thoroughly reinforced with dowels and things. I have to hope so, anyway. I bet there are points that are more structurally sound than others.

Twistie: I’m not terribly fond of the cakes that look like temples, though I have a bizarre fondness for the cake the looks like a bunch of tires or doughnuts stacked willy-nilly. It’s ugly, sure, but it’s definitely unique!

These are definitely impressive considered as examples of the art of cake baking and decorating…but I’m really not sure whether I like any of them. They certainly are interesting, though.

Damn, I’d be scared of any cake that could quite easily topple on you during the cake cutting ceremony.

At least make sure to ask the baker or an architecht where it the safest spot so you don’t get the confectioners sugar equivalent of the arch stone.
