I was actually looking for funky wedding shoes — more on that later — when I came across this amazing wedding cake that was exhibited at the 2007 Cake & Sugar Art Show at the Travis County Expo Center in Austin, Texas.

If you aren’t already aware, Twistie dreams of turning her kitchen into Pepperland from Yellow Submarine. I don’t know how far she’s gotten, but when she’s done and it’s time to invite friends and family over for a ‘holy crap, thank goodness the remodeling is done’ party, she should find a baker who can replicate this cake (and make thematically appropriate tarts for Mr. Twistie).
Beatles fans whose weddings are in the works should not hesitate to do the same, with or without the tarts.
That is so cool. I used to drive my friends nuts randomly singing “Yellow Submarine” so I could see them thinking this was a great one for me too.

I think I shall ‘suggest’ rather forcefully to Mr. Twistie that we need to hold a vow reaffirmation or at least a really kickass anniversary party just so I have an excuse to have that cake.
