I love gold wedding gowns, but I’m biased, having worn a gold gown myself. Tradition aside, I just couldn’t see myself wearing a white or ivory or cream dress. I’m naturally pale, so most of the whites I’ve encountered in my lifetime match my skin tone just a little too closely for comfort. Gold, on the other hand, made me look and feel all glowy and angelic.

Here we have a metallic-blend French taffeta wedding gown in a beautiful light gold. Roses and beaded re-embroidered Alençon lace accent the bodice and embellish the two-tiered bubble skirt with its chapel train. Finally, the lace adorning the bodice is heavily beaded with Swarovski crystals.
I think I’d really like (maybe even love) this gown if the roses and Swarovski crystals and hangy beady thingies all went bye-bye. I like the overall shape of the bodice and it’s looking like I have finally found a bubble skirt I can appreciate. But as it exists now, this wedding gown is way too busy for my particular tastes, so I’m leaning toward hate… or at the very least, active dislike. The model seems to dislike it as well.
What say you?
Hmmm….I think the color is the one thing I actively like about this gown.
The bubble skirt is certainly well-constructed, but it hasn’t changed my mind one iota about bubble skirts in general being a sourge. In particular, I don’t think a bubble train looks terribly graceful. And the fabric roses between the tiers are a bit prom/bad bridesmaid dress for my taste. And we all know my feelings on the endless parade of strapless bridal wear.
The color is gorgeous. I love that. What’s more, it looks fabulous on the model, despite her ‘I’m a bout to shank you, bitch’ expression. Pretty much everything else about this gown I hate.
I think it just has too many things going on at the same time. Too many dress designers pile on the trends in an attempt to seem with-it, but they just come off as jumbled messes. The color is very pretty though.
I’ll be a dissenter — I almost really love it! I would love it more if not for the overdone embellishments on the upper “poof” of the skirt. The roses and crystals and lace appliques there are just not necessary. I’d also take away the roses on the bodice. But otherwise it’s flattering and the color is gorgeous, and I could see this being fabulous at a winter wedding.
I pretty much agree with Melissa. I like everything except the roses.
I’m with Melissa and Toni – everything except that poofy-rose-drape-thing is very pretty.
And given my complexion, I would want a color like that anyway. Ivory/pale gold/warmer tones in general look better on me, and I’m just lucky that I like the way they look in general 😀
I love the color and the bodice is pretty. I loathe bubble skirts however, and the 2 tiered bubble skirt is horrible even without the odd flowers and beading.
But if we’re talking color, I think I’m in love. It’s divine.
I gotta say, I’ve never liked bubble skirts, and this is no exception. Like many of the commenters before me, I’d ditch the roses, too. I think the beading and the flowy-not-quite-pleated skirt is divine, especially with that color.
Color: DIVINE!!!!
Bodice: Okay
Skirt: No
This dress is perfect. I love it!
I like the dress! I like this wedding dress because it’s unique.
Just one note… a bride must make sure the dress she picks will work with her figure and the that color will work with her skin tone. The color gold can enhance some skin tones and wash others out. This style also can be difficult for some figure types to wear.
Not sure about this one, but love the idea of gold. Almost went for a crushed organza gold dress – but went for a “champagne” Kate Sherford gown, but it was more toffee coloured really. I banned white from our wedding!

I am actually pretty obsessed with every delicious little inch of this gown. The link to it no longer works and I am dying to know where I can get one for my very own. Does anyone know who makes it and what the style name/number is?
Ask and ye shall receive, Danielle! It’s Emerald Bridal, style number TC1916. The new link to the gown is http://www.emeraldbridal.net/styles_detail.cfm?SID=377 and you can find a store that carries that line here: http://www.emeraldbridal.net/stores.cfm. Good luck!
