LOVE/HATE: The “We’re Not Worthy” Edition
By Never teh Bride
Love, hate, love, hate… just kidding! This week’s LOVE/HATE should really be entitled LOVE/LOVE because, really, is this not just a wickedly stunning wedding photograph? Taken by Mark Kostel of Kostel Photo in Toronto, this picture of a bride deep in thought just floors me. I mean really, you lucky Candadians!
What say you? Is this is striking as I think it is?

Are you kidding me, NtB? Do you even need to ask that question? This photograph is the perfect composition of a gorgeous subject. LOVE!
I don’t know this lady, but I want to hang her portrait on my wall.

It looks to me like she’s standing in a really awkward position – her shoulders are against the wall, but I’m not sure her butt is….

It’s a beautiful photograph of a lovely bride in an amazing bridal ensemble. Even though I’m an Irish-German American girl from Long Island, I lusted after Indian bridal dresses online. The colors, the beading, the sumptuous fabrics…if I thought I could have gotten away with it, I might have worn one.

Pencils, to me, the WONDERFUL thing about Indian bridal dresses is they come in more colours than Crayola ever even imagined. There ARE colours you can wear, there ARE. I say this as an Anglo-Irish girl myself (hint: lips as red as blood, hair as black as ebony, skin as pale as snow: Sounds Like:…). No, I cannot wear every colour that an Indian bride might choose … but then it depends on the colouring of that particular bride. There are saris and salwar kameez for everyone. If you’re fair and blonde, if you have red-headed Viking ancestors, if you’re a blend of brunette – there are Indian dresses in your very own colour. Blood red, baby blue, moss green, ivory, gold, white, black, grey … oh, my. Love me some Indian fabrics!

Oh hey, I had an Indian wedding (husband is Indian) and you actually wear (traditionally) red, gold and white for your wedding sari. As an added bonus it’s perfectly acceptable to wear it at anyother time in the future (which is kinda awesome). After the ceremony you typically change into a dressing langa (I’m not sure I’ve spelled that correctly) which is what the young lady in the photo above is wearing.
