It’s time to play a game, my friends. It’s a game about dreams. After all, a little dreaming is a wonderful thing. So I’m going to ask you a few questions about your ultimate wedding desires. There are no right or wrong answers. This is about what you would love if budget, time, and pretty much every other practicality didn’t need to be considered. This is about what you would do if you didn’t have to think about your mother-in-law’s feelings, your MOH’s allergies, how much money you have in the bank, or your DIY disasters past.
Just fill in the blanks with whatever flight of fancy appeals to you.

So what would you choose?

If I could wear anything I want to get married in, I would choose something a lot closer to the original dress I wanted. High back, low scoop front, lots of boning in the bodice for structure… and a simple, floor-length skirt. Probably in off-white, but I’d really like blue detailing.
If I could have any sort of music I like at my wedding, I would choose to have someone play. For the ceremony, Anthony Mazzella would have to play. He’s amazing, and we adore him. For the reception, I’m not sure if I’d go offbeat, like Dweezil Zappa or Thomas Dolby, or a *little* more mainstream, like Barenaked Ladies. But in either case, I’d like to have our friends come up and play with them.
If I could have any kind of decoration I want at my wedding, I would choose light. Lots and lots of soft light. Candles, lanterns…
If I could serve any sort of meal I like at my reception, I would choose just appetizers and desserts. Exotic cheeses, fruits, breads, chocolates, meat… food prepared simply, eaten simply. Petit fours, fruit tartlets, and cookies or brownies instead of cake.
If I could have/do one special thing on my wedding day, I would choose to have everyone we love be there with us. Ideally, we’d even be able to have his grandparents and my great-grandmothers, all of whom died before we got married. But if we’re bringing people back from the dead, I’d have Roy Orbison and/or the Beatles play my reception. So, you know…
If I could go anywhere in the world for my honeymoon, I would choose to travel through Australia and New Zealand, cruise to Antarctica, and maybe come back through South America. I want to meet penguins!
