LOVE/HATE: The ‘Not Your Momma’s Wedding Invitation’ Edition

The fab Dr Nic sent along this stop-motion wedding invitation – about a hundred years ago, but still in 2010 – and I thought I’d run it by the Manolo for the Brides readership because you folks know what’s what.

So, this. Too gimmicky? Awesome? I’ll say right now I love it, but only because it’s the first of its kind that I’ve seen. If every bride- and groom-to-be under the sun started sending out stop-motion wedding invitations on CDs instead of plain old paper invites, I think I’d get sick of having to rewind 50 times to get all the info down. But since I’ve only seen this one? It gets a free pass in my book.

What say you?

I love it! It’s not something I would do, but for someone who is really into stop-animation (as it seems the groom is), it’s really cute and personal! I would love it if I got an invitation like this one.

A few details: this invitation was done solely by the groom, and made the bride very nervous because she thought it was taking to long. It came with a written summary of the details/location. And the dress he used was the dress she wore on their first date.

I have tears in my eyes and I just posted it at my blog, because it is so sweet. I love how he opens the door for her! The cutest invite ever.

What’s really great about it is how personal it is and how much it says about the bride and groom. I don’t think most couples could pull this off. But I could see more video invitations in the future, which I don’t necessarily think is a good thing…

    Sooooooo cute!!!

I’m not sure I’d like to see this become a trend, but this video is adorable.

Wow the video was sooooo amazing. I wish I had seen that before my best friend’s wedding. That would have been totally awesome. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed the video so much.Very cute and quite creative!

Wow – I can totally appeciate the amount of WORK that went into that. You could really do something like that for so many things. Very cool! I do wonder how they kept the shirt so clean, even being dragged around like that. (LOL!)

Also, Thanks for your comment on my special SITS day. I gave you a special mention in my latest post! :-)

    i LOVE it
it’s such an inventive, cute music video
actually, if you search Coldplay’s ‘Strawberry Swim’ it’s done the same way only with chalk. it’s really cool. :)
