We’ve all seen them: The vintage-look, glowy, sun-kissed wedding photographs that are washed out in all the right ways. Oopsie, I think I just gave myself away! I adore this look, which requires just the right light to be perfect but can be fudged with a clever ‘shop.

Aren’t those snaps gorgeous? Or perhaps you think they look too staged, or that these kinds of shots are too trendy and are going to look way out-of-date in twenty year’s time?
Put me down for a hate. You sum it up perfectly- too staged, trendy, and will look dated in 20 years (if it even takes that long).
I’m ok with it as long as it’s just a couple shots in the album. It’s pretty, but definitely a trend right now, which will date it pretty quickly.
Meh. Not wild, but I can’t work myself up enough to hate. It’s also waaaaay too easy to do this badly, in which case it winds up looking like someone smeared Vaseline all over the lens or just has no clue how to work lighting.
OTOH, if it’s to your taste, I would say forget how dated it’s going to look. Every wedding album will look dated at some point. Choose what you love fearlessly. Just make sure your photographer knows how to do it well.
This is what I’m aiming for (though not for the whole album). But I can’t seem to find any photographers in New Jersey (or that many in NYC) that have examples of photos like these on their sites.
This style (does it even have a name?) seems like more of a West Coast thing. Boo!
I love the style of these pictures — very dreamy quality to them.
I LOVE the first two photos, but I HATE the last one. That couple just looks bizarre and the light isn’t helping.
The last one is very Beam-me-up,-Scotty.
Love the sun-kissed photo at the bottom of the page. Just the right angle that gives that picture perfect moment. Great photos!!!!
It looks gorgeous!
