If you can get past the freaky alienhead woman wearing the dress – I know, it’s not easy – you’ll see an, er, interesting white dress by Donna Karan from the Spring 2010 collection.

Would you wear it? Me… I’m not surprised by this dress, considering that the most of the collection is a bit floppy-drapey and, well, the 80s is back, so I’m guessing the model didn’t lose a sleeve between backstage and this moment in time. I’m going to say I wouldn’t wear it. And also I hate it. This dress is what that static cling spray (another 80s child) was invented for. Fashion can be art, but art isn’t always something you want to wear at your wedding.
I have to say I agree – I’m not a fan. Someone is bound to love it though!
I had somehow managed to completely wipe static cling spray from my memory. 🙂 I’m in the dislike camp as well…it looks like a shiny bedsheet and yet it still manages to exude that aura of cheap polyester that so permeated the 1980s. Weird.
No thank you. At first I thought it was interesting, but the more I look at it the less I like it.
Also, where is that woman’s other arm? No arm, no sleeve? I know this is a runway shot, but jeebus that’s creepy.
It manages to look messy, unmade, and hyper-clingy at the same time.
Static cling spray? (whimpers)
I’ve seen a few (very few) one sleeved designs that work for me over the years, but this is not one of them. Donna Karan, how could you?
