It’s Like Rain On Your Wedding Day

Whether you’re having an indoor wedding or an outdoor wedding, there’s always the possibility that the weather gods will see fit to moisten your big day. You can improve your chances of a beautiful sunny day or a clear starry night by choosing your wedding locale wisely, but those weather gods have their own ideas about how things ought to be and they don’t care that it’s always been your dream to walk the aisle with a parasol in hand.

So what if that bridal parasol turns out to be a bridal umbrella and you have to trade in your satin slippers for wellies? Be like these brides and make the most of a great photo op!

  1. Looks great! Means your wedding photos have to be more original… besides, it always pays to be prepared!

Fantastic photos. You know what I would love to see? A post about and with lots of photos/poses where the bride is taller than the groom. That’s sort of a “common but unusual” thing and I think many people aren’t sure how to handle it. Do brides still wear heels? Are photo poses different? Do they embrace it? And so on.

  3. @Megan I’m on it! Though I know that some tall brides do what they can to minimize their height in their wedding photos – think flats, standing on the slope of a hill, etc. – I like when couples of mismatched height own it. After all, presumably the bride has been taller than the groom since before they were engaged and will be taller than the groom for the rest of their lives. Why shouldn’t she wear heels if that’s what she likes? And stand tall!

We didn’t have rain for our wedding. Instead we had a blizzard. So we just went with it. And I love our photos. It just made everything so beautiful.
