LOVE/HATE: The Jet Puffed Edition

Some brides want to achieve a wedding day look that’s more handsome than romantic, and I say go for it. The bridal suit has gone mainstream in recent years, either as the honeymoon getaway outfit or at the bride’s primary ensemble. But all bridal suits are not created equal. Take this interesting number from Piedad Rodriguez… I’d say it does its best to combine the simple look of a suit with the frills of a wedding dress. Does it work? You tell me! I am going to err on the side of hate on this one, but I would much prefer the more basic bridal suit paired with that hat. Yum.

Actually, if you could rip off the poofy part of the sleeve (and maybe the train but I can’t see it well enough to decide) I think it’s quite gorgeous and the hat sets off the simple lines of the dress (again, post sleeve-ectomy) beautifully.

I almost feel like the hat and basic suit together would be relatively unremarkable. I’d be more willing to support this look if, basically, it didn’t look like you could easily pull the puffy sleeves and train off and HAVE a plain bridal suit.

I mean, I don’t like the look at all, but if you’re going for something like this, then GO for it.

I LOVE the hat and even the shape and flow of the skirt, but the sleeves on that thing… woah. Do they come with some sort of air compressor to keep them inflated?
