Twistie’s Sunday Caption Madness: The In the Beginning Edition

By Twistie

Hey there caption fans! It’s time once again to play Twistie’s Sunday Caption Madness!

You all know how this game works by now. I post a picture that’s simply crying out for a good caption. You provide said captions via the comments function. Next week I declare a winner and there is much rejoicing.

This week’s image, while innocent in intent, may not be entirely safe for work so I’ve placed it under a cut. I actually tried to post this one a while back, but it apparently only showed up on my and Mr. Twistie’s computers. If it doesn’t show up this week, I’m going to assume it’s too shy to use for this purpose.

Greetings caption lovers, and welcome to another edition of Twistie’s Sunday Caption Madness. It’s a beautiful day for writing captions, so I hope you’re all in fine captioning fettle.

Speaking of which, I want to remind you all that if you love captions, this is not the only place in the Manolosphere where you can get your captioning groove on. Over at Teeny Manolo, they play this game every friday. And dollars to donuts, if it’s a Twistie’s Sunday Caption Madness sunday over here, it’s one at Manolo for the Big Girl, too. Please come out and play at these fine blogs. We can always use more humor in our lives. And more play.

So how does one play? It’s so easy an executive at the ad agency that produces Geiko’s commercials can do it. I put before you all a picture that is simply crying out for a funny caption. You do your best to provide said caption via the comments function. Next week I declare a winner, and we all rejoice and strew flowers and suchlike in a virtual way.

Today’s image is brought to you courtesy of…I’m really not sure what, but in case it’s not work safe, I’ve placed it behind this convenient cut:

Twistie’s Sunday Caption Madness: The Blue Meringue Edition: The Result

Greetings caption lovers!

Last week I lobbed this deathless image at you all:
Turquoise Nightmare Bridesmaids and you came out swinging with some deeply amusing and imaginative responses.

Alas, there can be but one winner. This week there is no question that the laurel goes to HurricaneDeck for this fabulous – and eco-friendly – bit of DIY advice:

Bridal Survival Guide Tip No. 43,254

When your bridesmaid’s skirts get misplaced at the bridal shop, remember that you can always rent a cotton candy machine in a snap. The spun sugar makes for fantastically fluffy, flirty and fun skirts and come in a vast array of colors. This is also a good idea for the ecologically conscientious bride, as the skirts could be reusable as a food source for the hummingbirds.

Congratulations, HurricaneDeck! And thanks to all who played!

Hey there caption fans! It’s time once again to play Twistie’s Sunday Caption Madness. You all know how this works. I pick a photo that I firmly believe is crying out for a caption, you provide said captions via the comments box, and next week I declare a winner whereupon we all celebrate with virtual wedding cake and cookies.

This week’s pic comes to you from the ‘Scarlet, she looks like a meringue’ file and it looks a bit like this:

Twistie’s Sunday Caption Madness: The Almost Lifelike Edition: The Result

Hail unto thee, caption lovers!

Last week I presented you with this…um…image:
Robobride You, once you got over your shock, provided me with five pithy and hilarious responses. Truly, the quantity wasn’t very high, but the quality was astronomical. You did not in any way make this an easy choice for me.

Still, there can be but one winner…except when I honestly cannot choose between two. That’s right, it’s a tie. I shall present them in the order they were submitted.

The first is Kristin, for making it even scarier to turn on an episode of Bridezillas with this entry:

The truly unfortunate aspect of the Robot Uprising of ‘15 was that the self-replicating artificial intelligence had evolved on the WE.tv network server.

The second is Annie for reminding me that horrific as the ‘bride’ is, the gown is every bit as bad with this caption:

“The designer knew he’d have a hard time finding a model for the dress he designed based on his grandmother’s toilet paper cozies, but where there’s an advanced applied robotics degree, there’s a way.”

Congratulations to both winners, and my sincere thanks to everyone who played.

Hale, caption fans! It’s time once again to play Twistie’s Sunday Caption Madness.

You all know how this works. I pick a picture that’s simply sobbing into its Corn Flakes for a caption. You provide said captions through the comments function. Next week I declare a winner and there is much rejoicing.

This week’s image comes to you from the too bizarre to be fake file.
Robobride Ready…set…snark!
